Love lives here
Seaside Trader is where our love of all things fashion and style come together.
Barb bought the shop in 2019 and has lovingly revamped it, giving it a fresh new look and direction.
The vision for Seaside Trader is to bring all the beautiful things together in one place to help you find and live your style every day. Joined by Mouse in 2021, Seaside Trader has expanded into the online world and found even more treasures for our beloved Seasiders.
We want your experience at our shop to feel like you’re coming home to family. A slightly ‘out there’ family, but a family nonetheless. Even if you’re miles away from home, you’re always welcome here.
We absolutely love when you come to visit our shop. Even if it’s just to pop your head in the door and say ‘hello’ or get directions to one of the beautiful spots in our town.
Next time you’re in Merimbula, we'll welcome you with open arms. Until then, we look forward to seeing you online.
Barb and Mouse
I started out in the fashion industry working in a department store on Saturdays. I then broke into the modelling industry and eventually worked in Europe, represented by Peter Chadwick. Being a model was fantastic and I particularly loved doing TV commercials and catwalk runway work.
Ask me nicely and I might even strut my stuff for you!
I turned that experience in fashion into a career, renovating and styling a number of properties and eventually setting up Seaside Trader.
Last year, I was thrilled to welcome my stepdaughter Mouse into the Seaside Trader team. We get along so well and both love the ‘little shop that could’ immensely.
After years living in London working in fashion, I came back to Australia during the pandemic. I wanted to help Barb with her shop – particularly getting the online store set up – so we could reach more people.
The pandemic has been incredibly challenging for retail stores like Seaside Trader so I was glad I was able to help.
I love the vibe of Seaside Trader – welcoming, friendly and a little eccentric. It’s what brings our customers – and their furry friends - back time after time.
